Eligibility
To be considered, you must:
- Be an undergraduate student at the University of South Carolina-Columbia
- Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale)
- Be in your third year or beyond at USC at time of employment
- Have effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Have strong organizational and time management skills
- Have a desire to help their fellow students
- Having experience with event planning/execution is preferred, but not required
- This position is for the full academic year, from August 2024-May2025
- Must be willing to return to campus in early August for training prior to the start of the semester, Exact date TBA.
Job Responsibilities
- Helps guide and support sophomores, juniors and transfer students while at USC
- Holds one-on-one consultations with students in regard to the sophomore year, junior year, and transfer year
- Helps plan and implement all programming and outreach for sophomore year, junior year, and transfer students
- Assists with support for students who have transferred to USC through programming and outreach and helps support transfer student organizations
- Aids in survey and focus group analysis of targeted populations
- Other duties as assigned
Breakdown of Weekly Hours
Minimum of 10-12 guaranteed hours per week
- 9-12 consultation and project hours
- 1 staff meeting hour
- Bonus hours opportunity for working events outside of scheduled hours
